We are all aware of the desperate social conditions and extreme poverty in which many families live in the Albanian lands in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and in Presheva Valley. Unable to remain indifferent to such a situation, the members of the Albanian Diaspora in Melbourne decided to establish the charitable association "Mergata".
Albanian Australian Charitable Foundation “Mergata” is a charity of Albanian Australians whose main purpose is helping poor families of our community in the Balkan region. This support is expressed as housing assistance, food aid, clothing, emergency financial assistance or other assistance as approved by the Board of “Mergata”. The provision of such assistance is enabled through donations and fundraising activities.
